Well..Even though we looked really hard and even search the Balinesian jungle we didn´t manage to find any Balinesian Tigers... We first stayed in Kuta for a couplbe of days. Relaxing in the the sun and partying during the nights. Kuta is a horrible place! The locals are doing everything they can to make you buy their crap. They even use violence sometimes! The nightlife in Kuta is great! Almost couldn´t be better I belive. We got really fond of the little place called "Bounty" a pub with dancefloor. They played all kinds of music and we danced away the nigths! When we had had enough of Kuta we decided to go to Gili Islands as fast as we can.
We took the Shuttle bus to Padangbai and from there we had to go by boat for about 4 hours. then another bus wwere supposed to wait for us at Lombok...Well..after a while we found it. It was crowded with people, some children took care of our backpacks up on the roof. Yes, we were abit scared they might fall off or be stolen!..But they didn´t! After two hours drive on windling roads through the Bush with heaps of wild Grey Monkeys at the sides we arrived at village?? by the beach where the next boat would take us to Gili...Or should I say canoe...
The theme from "the Jaws" were coming up to our heads...This boat wouldn´t even stand a attack from a little goldfish!!! But we survived that trip too. Gili iland...We all think we found PARADISE!! It was soo beautiful and unspoilt! As there were no electricity, running water, roads or anything. From the "harobur", actully just the beach were they "parked" their canoes..about 4 of them, we took a walk in the sand to find ourseves a cottage to stay in. We were offered to go by a wagon pulled by a poor little pony but we didn´t think it would be that hard to use our feet.
We stayed on Gili-air for about three wonderful days! We went snorkling among the colorful fishes and coralls. There was some girls that came to us everyday at the beach and wanted to chat for a while..They were so cute! We visited the school they had on the island, that was really an eyeopener...In Sweden the students complains about the bad taste of the food, that of course is FREE, here they were sooo proud to show us their worn out dirty books.. Read more about Gili air in my diary!
From Gili we wanted to go to Lovina in one day. That was impossible! The reason was that it gets dark! And we found out that nobody will drive a car after six o´clock because of that. So we had to stay the night in Padangbai, which I´m really happy we did! It was very nice there. The next day we took the local "bus" after an argument about the price of course, they wanted us to pay the double price!! Bet we refused. That trip was very memorable, we shared the bus with all kinds of local people animals and stuff. And the door was open all the time.
